Description

Conversion is at the core of Christian experience. Is it a process? Or can conversion be confined to a point in time? In our tolerance-driven, globalized world, should we even use the word at all? Social, political, and theological challenges push us to think again about this vital theme.

Drawing on twenty-five years of mission experience, David Greenlee blends anthropological insights with evangelical theology to provide helpful missiological insights on conversion. He thoroughly illustrates the issue with cases and stories from South Asia where anti-conversion sentiment runs high, the Islamic world where the Law of Apostasy challenges any who would turn to Christ, and Europe where traditional religion and post-modern "tolerance" both confront any suggestion of conversion.

Endorsements

Concise yet thought provoking and helpful.

Good thoughts I have passed on to a few others. It also gives us a window into the Muslim world, where your illustrations come from. Well written, and a needed reminder.

Chacko Thomas
Co-ordinator, Missions Mobilization

Greenlee confesses, 'How God works in conversion is a theological and missiological question that has intrigued me for many years.' He has studied the subject deeply, but is no ivory tower theologian having served for 27 years in some of the most challenging countries in the world. The results chronicled in One Cross, One Way, Many Journeys, is a series of thoughtful, provocative, helpful insights that will prove to advance the Kingdom work of evangelism in many parts of the world.
